Boswellia Powder (also known as frankincense) is obtained from gum resin. It is most commonly used for joints, movement, and mobility support. Even with long term use it is not thought to have long term implication or side effects unlike other joint support supplements. Boswellia is relatively gentle on the gastrointestinal track and is often used to aid digestion, providing colonic support. Boswellia powder acts as a natural anti-inflammatory for dogs.

I don't usually do reviews, however I have a 3 year old Goldador who at One years old had an operation for elbow displacer. It was a big operation and his recovery was extremely long. After about 4 months the vets wanted to re operate as he was still limping so badly, this would require breaking another part of his leg to re fix it!! I decided to take him for a second opinion and in this appointment (a orthopaedic specialist) I was told to not touch that leg again and to walk him and walk him and build up the strength in all his legs. After about 4/6 months he was definitely better but a change in homes without heating created lots of problems for him and his limp became very exaggerated again. I re took him back to the second vet to find out what was going on and what I could do to make his life better. After an X-ray I was informed that he had advanced arthritis and that he would need medication every day and when that stopped working an injection every month (HE IS ONLY 2yrs and 3months at this stage). Told he would always have a limp! I was heart broken thinking my boy couldn't have the life I had envisaged for him. I have always fed my dog on raw and started looking into all the alternative medicines/fruit/veg that were natural anti inflammatorys and good for joints. I started adding all these to his meals but was not seeing the results I had hoped for. A friend then told me about Boswelia powder as she uses it for herself for her arthritis but that she was pretty sure that you can use it for dogs. Again I went and did my research and found the powder, I also found that True Dog sold a joint support. I ordered both and began giving them to him. After a few months I noticed that he didn't appear to be limping any more, so I decided to start reducing his medication (as my concern for his liver/kidneys/stomach etc worried me). Slowly over a period of a month I reduced the medication until he was no longer on it. NO LIMP!! But we were now heading into the winter, so I anticipated having to re start, but apart from the odd stiffness at night after running around and swimming (whatever the weather) we still have no limp! He now has a full life, running through the woods jumping in the water, swimming, everything you would want a young dog to be able to do. So if this is because of the above and the joint support (why wouldn't it be) I would recommend anyone to give it a go.
Hi Samantha! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We are so happy to hear that it has made a positive difference in your dog's life and helped with his arthritis. We understand how difficult it can be to see our furry friends in pain, and we're glad that we've been able to provide some relief. Thanks again for choosing True Dog. Wishing your pup continued health and happiness
Was recommended by my dogs walker, as my dog has a habit of carrying her back leg, she is not in pain. Since putting a scoop a day in her food, for the last 10 days she hardly limps or carries her back leg.
